So glad they brought back the original design

The original Hot Shot was always the perfect backpack for me. I've had one for 15 yrs and it got me thru a decade of school, traveling, and casual use. It's durable, spacious, and stylish. I love that north face is focusing and expanding on the original design!

I did not recommend to buy if you don't

The zip is too tight on the top. It can't open all like you know like a mouth you open it will open all of them like all the way down. Is it too tight on up? I did not return it. I don't know. He just put on the side.

I would and did buy the product again.

Great Special Edition. I have the original and it is worn out. I was thrilled to be able to replace it.

My second Hot Shot

This is my second Hot Shot backpack. I use it almost daily for carrying my "stuff." It's a good size for daily use but also for hiking, even on longer trips and in colder weather. Pretty simple, it works well for me and has the North Face quality you expect.

A Practical Shift: From Heavy-Duty to Lightweight Carry

After 13 years of daily use with the Heckler, I switched to the Hot Shot for a lighter, more streamlined option. I still needed a reliable bag for work and a 15" laptop, just without the extra bulk. The Hot Shot's 30L capacity and simple, durable design make it a practical choice for everyday carry—though I do miss the Heckler's front horizontal zip compartment for safely storing small, easy accessible items.

Zipper hangs up

I've had a North Face Hot Shot backpack for over 16 years. It gets used daily, hauling computer, water, and lunch to and from my office, and for every flight I've taken in the last 16 years. The fabric has finally worn through, forcing me to replace it. I ordered this newer Hot Shot backpack. I'm sad to say I don't expect to get 16 years from this model. The zippers continue to get stuck and seem weak, whereas the old ones moved smoothly and never hung up. The fabric is thinner than my old model. The laptop sleeve is smaller now, and just barely fits my 16" work computer. While the water bottle pocket is better designed, it's the only improvement from my older model. I feel a bit cliched complaining about 'it was better when I was a kid!', but honestly, the Hot Shot backpack WAS better 15 years ago.
